This draft amendment to IEC 60238 provides alignment between TC 34 product standards with regard to the provisions of creepage and clearance requirements to take into account high frequency voltage and pulse voltage starting conditions. For this subject the SC34C 7 publication IEC 61347-1 is the lead document with the corresponding changes. This International Standard applies to lampholders with Edison thread E14, E27 and E40, designed for connection to the supply of lamps and semi-luminaires only. It also applies to switched-lampholders for use in a.c. circuits only, where the working voltage does not exceed 250 V r.m.s.
