This prestandard applies to fuse tongs to work on live parts with nominal voltages of 1 kV to 36 kV for indoor and outdoor use, but not in wet weather. It shall be used only in conjunction with DIN VDE V 0681-1 (VDE V 0681-1). Some restrictions on their use are applicable in the case of factory-assembled switchgear, eg according to DIN EN 62271-200 (VDE 0671-200) and EN 62271-201 (VDE 0671-201).
