This guide is intended to provide practical information to be
used in conjunction with technical information provided in the AWPA
2001 Book of Standards,1 ANSI 05.1-1992 (for wood poles), ANSI
05.2-1989 (for wood products such as structural glued laminated
timber for utility structures), and ANSI 05.3-1989 (for wood
products such as solid sawn wood crossarms and braces). These
voluntary product standards are used worldwide and are modified as
necessary by users for their specific needs.
