This self-study course is designed to be taken at your
convenience and on your own schedule. You have
90
days to finish the course once you begin.
This course covers the fundamentals of the ASME PTC 25 Code for
pressure relief devices. It describes the purpose of Performance
Test Codes, their general scope, application, and typical use. It
also examines the various types of pressure relief devices (PRDs),
their characteristics and terminology.
The course then looks at the various aspects of flow capacity
testing including preparation, methods of measurement, and reports;
the inservice testing procedures and methods of measurement; and
bench testing, for both compressible and incompressible fluids.
- You will learn to:
- Explain the purpose ASME PTCs, how they are categorized, and
how they are used
- Describe devices and tests addressed by ASME PTC 25
- Identify the various parts of PRDs and their functions
- Determine dimensional, operational, and mechanical
characteristics
- Explain how to determine relieving pressure, relieving flow
capacity at test pressure, and individual flow resistance
Who should attend
This course is designed for anyone who wants an introduction to
and a better understanding of how to apply the rules of the ASME
PTC 25 Code.
