Description / Abstract: This Standard is intended to provide and establish uniform practice for the measurement of master rings and ring gages to a given tolerance by means of a two-jaw internal comparator. It includes requirements for geometrical quality of master rings, quality of length standards required, the important characteristics of the comparison equipment, environmental conditions, and the means to assure that measurements are made with an acceptable level of confidence.
