Description / Abstract: This Standard covers the complete dimensional, mechanical, and performance requirements for metric series grooved pins which are widely used in general industrial applications. These grooved pins have three grooves, equally spaced about their circumference, impressed longitudinally into their exterior surface, with nominal diameters, D1, ranging from 1.5 mm to 12 mm, inclusive.

The displaced material at each side of the grooves forms an expanded diameter, D2, which is larger than the nominal diameter, D1, and designed to cause a positive locking fit when forced into a hole of the recommended diameter (see Table 1).

All dimensions in this Standard are in millimeters unless otherwise noted.
