Full Description

Applies to the use of high strength bolts complying with AS B157 in all types of steel structures erected in accordance with the provisions of the building regulations, by-laws, ordinances, other Australian standard rules where applicable, and other regulations governing the design and erection of steel structures. It is primarily intended that these Rules apply to bolts used in friction-type joints. Provision is made also for application to bearing-type joints. Regardless of the type of joint, the methods of tightening specified hereinafter shall be used for the bolts.
